The Monday Piece - Bobbi Brown Greige Event and Collection

This week's Monday Piece is on the Bobbi Brown Greige collection! I popped over to House of Fraser in Birmingham on Saturday morning to meet the Bobbi Brown crew for a make-up masterclass and to hear all about their new Greige collection. Pro make-up artist Amy Conway, who has worked for Bobbi for 8 years, was on hand to give us tips on how to get the most from the collection, and used the prettiest model to do so! The event was inspiring and exciting, and i'm so pleased i picked up some pro tips!

The look created was so fresh and flawless, with minimal foundation, and a pretty smoky eye and pink lip - a look great for the day, that can be easily vamped up with extra mascara and glitter for a more glam evening look. It looked effortless to apply and the models skin was absolutely stunning and glowing after the session - Amy added a little glitter from the new Greige eye palette, as well as eye liner from the Midnight Pigment Liner which gave a much more smooth and smoky line as opposed to harsh, heavy lines on the eye created with a liquid base. I loved the collection, a mixture of neutrals, greys, and dark colours - ideal for autumn/winter and party season!

As always the packaging of the products is extra sleek and classy, the palettes are a real treat and so usable and versatile, plus with a plethora of mega fans and years of experience and success, you know you're getting good quality products with Bobbi Brown - definitely worth treating yourself to! I've been trying out the Greige palette and eye liner compact and am loving it, it's a neat size so great for on the go and the colours are just my style, with a selection of shimmer, sparkle and matte shades it's a go to product for every occasion.

The Monday Piece - Warehouse Suede Jacket

This week's Monday Piece is on this Warehouse suede jacket! I can't keep away from suede this season and had my eye on this jacket for a little while, then it went in the sale and the rest is history! It's super duper soft, fits so well, has tassels, and has a feminine waterfall front, it's real love. Worn with some J Brand jeans and a House of Fraser knit :).

The Monday Piece - Sundried Sunglasses

This week's Monday Piece is on Sundried Sunglasses! Sunglasses aren't just for Summer, they're one of my favourite accessories and can be worn all year round, so i've been giving this new aviator style pair a go from Sundried. Encouraging healthy lifestyles and adopting a low carbon ethos to creating their products, Sundried have a responsible attitude, in part due to their origins and background in triathlon and surf sports. Their morals are definitely fresh and inspiring, and their products are cool too! The sunglasses are great quality and fit well, they're a unisex style so i wasn't sure how they'd fit but they're just right as i like an oversized style. They came in a pouch which is always good as i can pop them in my bag and carry them around without worrying about scratching them, Sundried have a few different styles and shapes out now and lots in the pipeline too so keep an eye out for new bits hitting their store soon, including clothes and more!

The Monday Piece - Over The Knee Boots

This week's Monday Piece is on over the knee boots! They come around every autumn and the shops are usually filled with their take on the trend, but it can be tricky finding the right pair that aren't toooo 'much', and that fit just right. I'd spied a few pairs online but didn't want to commit to a purchase until i'd tried them on in real life for fit and look, so Nick and i popped into town for a little shopping during the bank holiday weekend where i could try some styles on! The chunky soled version with the platform and track sole are everywhere - ASOS, River Island, H&M, Office...the list goes on - they aren't for me as they're a bit clunky and they're usually fake suede which i don't like the look of. I wanted a sleek classy pair (nothing smutty), real suede, with a pointed toe and tight fit, i can't stand it when they look 'baggy' and you see gals in town constantly pulling them up and fiddling with them, so i was looking for a sassy classy pair that fit right over the knee but not high up my thigh, with a heel.
My requirements are usually pretty high when looking for a shoe i want to invest in, so i wasn't going to 'settle' for any old pair, but found this pair from Dune in House of Fraser. They are fab and feel so great on, they're a suede slim fit and the back panel of the boot is stretchy which is ideal so they don't sag or fall down, the heel isn't too high but is a stiletto, and they have a pointed toe - the sizing is completely off though, i'm between a 3-4 in all shoes, but had to take a 5 in these which is nuts! So if you are buying this particular size online then do size up! I'm petite at 5 foot 3 so this pair is great for my short legs as they're well over the knee, i loveee them, it's definitely worth investing in a decent pair so i'm pleased i've made the commitment. I've worn them with skinny jeans, an asymmetric jumper and my trusty leather - so very pleased it's now leather weather again!
