The Monday Piece - Acclimatising

This week's Monday Piece is on acclimatising! When we arrived on the Gold Coast at the end of March the temperature was 28 degrees ish upwards, i thought it was so hot and was definitely getting all hot and bothered whilst out and about - this was at the end of the Queensland version of autumn which couldn't be more different from damp and cold autumn back in the UK...four months in and we are coming to the end of the Gold Coast winter, which hasn't really been a winter at all with average temperatures at around 23/24 degrees daily, barely any rain, and a little gust of wind every now and again - BUT i've definitely started to acclimatise and wore a full skin covered outfit at the weekend in 25 degree sunshine so obviously took the chance to grab a few outfit photos in actual clothes to make the most of it! If i'm not hanging out in my bikini then i'm otherwise wearing cut offs and a little top so it felt good to wear a familiar look to make me feel a bit more like myself. I picked up this jumper from the Aussie Boohoo for $8 which is a total steal, i's so soft and lightweight too which gives it the cosy factor i adore :).

Rosegal Under £20 Lust List

I am a total sucker for a bargain so i've been browsing RoseGal for some on trend pieces that i need in my life, all of the pieces below are under £20.00 so it's a great excuse to grab a few new bits without breaking the bank! Off the shoulder ruffle tops look so cute and are great worn with either jeans or shorts, the ruffle striped white style has a classic look to it with extra flounciness for Summer which i love, at just over £11.00 you can't really go wrong - they also have the cutest selection of pink crop tops that make the best basic tees. As always i need a bit of an injection of moody black into my lust list so the sheer black lace top definitely satisfies that, i'd wear mine with some black skinny jeans and buckled boots for an all black sassy look - this one is only £12.50 so i'm not complaining! I'm also loving the simple strappy top and wrap shirt that are my go to style for casual days where i want be comfy but look cute, draped designs are so flattering too. RoseGal also have some super hot swimwear for pocket money prices, the low cut backless swimsuit is ideal if your'e a little body conscious but still packs a punch when it comes to showing just enough skin on the beach or at the pool, the tropical bikini is also a flattering style and would look fab with a mojito in hand and a sunshine backdrop! Definitely check out Rosegal for their latest fashion drops at bargain prices, plus you can get an additional 10% off with the code 'RGEN' - i'm always keeping my eyes on their new in section which is full of on trend pieces :).

The Monday Piece - Simple Summer Outfit

This week's Monday Piece is on this simple Summer outfit! I wear this Zara skort so often as it's mega easy to wear and looks cute with so many different styles of top whether it's a t-shirt, vest or body - i like to keep it simple and comfortable during the warmer months so i'm free to move whilst keeping cool. I wore this at the weekend for a trip to the cinema to watch Dunkirk, and a bit of shopping too, the suede mules are so soft and i love the no fuss design. On Saturday we went to Coolangatta and spent time at the beach and rock pools, there's so many beautiful areas on the Gold Coast to explore so we try and get out on as many adventures as possible! I was meant to get another blog post up this weekend but had an incident involving my iPhone and a washing machine that didn't end well, as iffff i could be clumsy...c'est la vie!

The Monday Piece - Luxe Summer Footwear

This week's Monday Piece is on luxe Summer footwear! We are well into the swing of Summer so i've been spying on some luxe footwear brands inspiring me to put something jazzy on my feet and get out in the sunshine to embrace the Summertime. When i'm looking at Summer shoes i have two categories - something snazzy to wear for short amounts of time or for dinner out, then something a little more casual and comfy to wear during the day whether i'm exploring shopping or running errands they have to feel good as well as looking ace. I totally adore the Fausto Puglisi baby pink heeled mules, they look like something Barbie would wear - the crinkled satin and bow make them the sweetest pair of mules ever, they're half price too making them even more appealing! I also love the pom pom heels and jewel coloured mules, they can definitely make or break an outfit and look so sleek too.

For down days i'm a sucker for some luxe trainers, i think they're better value for money too as they're designed to be a bit more practical than a spiky stiletto. The Joshua Sanders fluffy trainers are so cute and fun, i'd wear them with some casual cut off shorts and a t-shirt for running around town. Espadrilles are also great for Summer, they're super lightweight and the cotton fabrics make them breathable keeping your feet cool and fresh - they're so classic too and come around each season so they make a decent investment if you choose a good quality pair, the cactus Soludos pair are a fab neutral colour and ideal for days in the sun! What shoes do you have your eye on this season?

Alexander Wang Mini Rockie Review

I adore Alexander Wang and his 'off duty' New York styles and have been coveting one of his everyday bags forever so i grabbed this mini rockie on sale from The Outnet! It's the black pebbled leather with antique gold hardware and is such a great size - i don't like massive bags as they just swallow my short self up, so the mini size is ideal for everyday as i don't tend to take out too much with me. Although it's the smallest size it's really roomy, it has two internal pockets plus a little side pocket so it's great for cramming things in! I've been using it the past two weeks and am loving it so far, it has a detachable shoulder strap so you can wear it on the arm or on the shoulder, plus the leather is really thick and durable so there's no need to baby it which is great for clumsy people like me. Obviously the gold studs add some serious sass and toughness to the mini bag which is is what i'm all about so it's a thumbs up from me, i saw this bag in the regular sized version years ago and have always wanted to get my paws on one so it was definitely time to finally treat myself to it, plus i got it on sale which is always a bonus :).

The Monday Piece - Motorhead T-shirt

This week's Monday Piece is on this Motorhead t-shirt! I have a massive collection of metal and rock t-shirts, they are the easiest things to throw on and go with a pair of ripped jeans or denim shorts and look great as well as being mega comfortable and relaxed. I've worn this Motorhead tee with my trusty Levi cut offs, studded sandals and Furla bag for a simple weekend look for running errands, shopping and heading to the beach - it's a men's so has the classic oversized fit i love. This weekend i had a work ball event so spent the evening at a casino being a social butterfly, the weather was so lovely during the day so i spent it taking a trip to Burleigh for some shopping and lunch which is always a treat!

The Monday Piece - Western Boho

This week's Monday Piece is on western boho! I totally adore any kind of western vibe when it comes to fashion, i'm all about the studs, buckles and cowboy pieces as they look awesome and are for sure a bit of fun too. If i'm not after a head to toe western look aka Crocodile Dundee, then it's easy to soften it up with a little boho styling, a ruffled embroidered shirt can make a cowboy hat, denim cut offs, and a chunky boot look on trend without being too yee-ha. Western accessories are always catching my eye, whether it's the Toga Pulla buckle boots i've been coveting for years (literally), or some skull studded jewellery, it's simple to update an otherwise regular outfit like ripped jeans and an off the shoulder top - i'm spying on the Alexander McQueen heart and skull scarf!

Xenia Boutique Lace Playsuit

A mega quick outfit post from this weekend featuring my new playsuit i picked up from an online Aussie boutique! It's quite a girly piece for me but i love the detail and cold shoulders, it laces up at the back too giving it another twist which i love. I've worn it with my Wittner mules that i'm wearing at every opportunity, the nude colour looks fab with white! The camera i used in today's post is different from my usual Canon as somehow i've managed to misplace my memory card amongst other things so borrowed this one from a friend, it's definitely wet my appetite for updating my tech!
