The Monday Piece - Best UK Cities For Book Lovers

This week's Monday Piece is on best UK cities for book lovers. The UK’s best city for book lovers is Cambridge - boasting an overall index score of 9.74/10! With a perfect public bookcase score of 10/10, the city also boasts the highest library score at 9.84/10. It’s no surprise that this magnificent city is well known globally for its education and culture.  

 

Securing joint second place are York and Edinburgh, with  impressive joint rankings of 9.53/10. Achieving a perfect score of 10/10 for bookshops, York also came out on top for its library score. Edinburgh however, had a much higher public bookcase score, at 9.84/10. 

 

Ranking as the fourth best UK city for book lovers is Oxford. Renowned for its exceptional university, Oxford earns an overall index score of 9.43/10. Achieving a perfect library score of 10/10, the city also has a near perfect score of 9.53 for its bookshops.  

 

Securing fifth place is Brighton and Hove with a final index score of 9.32/10. The East Sussex city has a near-perfect score of 9.69 for its bookshops and public bookcases, but falls short with a library score of 8.59/10 :).

The Monday Piece - Dog Friendly Beaches 2022

This week's Monday Piece is on dog friendly beaches 2022. It’s no secret that dogs are a man’s best friend. With National Dog Day just around the corner (26th August 2022)we've sought to find the highest-rated dog-friendly beaches in the UK.

After analysing Google ratings and reviews for 151 beaches with no dog restrictions, we can now reveal which is the best for you and your furry pal on their special day! Durdle Door is the most dog-friendly UK beach

Overall the most dog-friendly beach is Durdle Door in Dorset, with a score of 9.30 out of 10. A perfect seaside getaway for dogs and their owners, the famed limestone arch makes a dreamy backdrop to a game of fetch with your four-legged friend.

Cuckmere Haven Beach in East Sussex ranks second, with 9.13 out of 10. Neighbouring the white chalk cliffs of the Seven Sisters, the quiet pebble beach enjoys the views of the iconic landmark that makes it a prime spot for some bonding with your dog.

Another Dorset favourite, Man O’War Beach, ranks third with 8.99 out of 10. Also known as east Durdle Door, this pebble beach offers calm waters protected from swells – perfect for a splash in the sea with your doggie!

In fourth place, with 8.79 is Three Cliffs Bay in Glamorgan. Taking the crown as the first sand beach on the list, the seashore is paired with the dunes of sand for plenty of room to roam.

Rounding off the top five is Longsands North Tynemouth with 8.69. Located on England’s northeast coast, this dog-friendly beach is another perfect place to walk your dog.

Rounding off the top ten is Porth Joke beach in Cornwall, with a score of 8.22 out of 10. Hidden in a deep cove within the headlands, this beach is a peaceful haven to disconnect from the world.

Devon is home to the most dog-friendly beaches. It is no surprise that Devon, the county also known as ‘Mother Nature’s playground’, is home to the most highly rated dog-friendly beaches. A whopping 22 beaches out of 151 made the rankings.

In a close second, placing with a total of 21 beaches is the county of Pembrokeshire. Bordered by the sea on three sides, it is no wonder it has a plethora of beaches to offer. Cornwall places third with a total of 14 highly rated dog-friendly beaches. Home to harbour villages and towering cliffs, you and your pet will never have a dull moment there :).

The Monday Piece - Lincolnshire Weekend Trip

This week's Monday Piece is on Lincolnshire weekend trip! We just got back from a very chilled out weekend in Lincolnshire. It was the ideal time to go as the rest of the UK was experience another unbearable heatwave, whereas we had temperatures around 25 degrees which was much more bearable. We spent the days on the beach and evenings with tasty food and few glasses of wine :).

This week's Monday Piece is on sunmer vibes! It's nice to share a few pictures so far of the summer break, of course Togo features in most of them! We've been chilling, on a few days out and lots of lovely walks. The weather has also been pretty amazing which is unusual for the UK so we are rolling with that :).

The Monday Piece - Togo at Woolacombe

This week's Monday Piece is Togo at Woolacombe! We spent the weekend in Devon, relaxing in the little northern villages and towns. It was very chilled vibes, with beach walks, lots of seafood and rest too. Togo, as always, was loving the sand and even enjoyed getting his paws wet :).
