The Monday Piece - House of Fraser Dress Review

This week's Monday Piece is on House of Fraser dress review! I like my dresses simple and not too fussy, often with a bit of an edge or something to make it a little 'different' - this dress by Label Lab at House of Fraser is a new fave as it ticks all the right boxes! The material is so soft and fits really well as it has quite a lot of stretch to it, the high low asymmetric style hem is a fit i'm very familiar with so it makes me feel mega comfortable and confident - plus i'm a mega fan of the Label Lab stuff at House of Fraser and have quite a few of their pieces, click here for a knitwear look from their range. The knot front makes it a little more sassy and it has a fairly grunge/kooky look to it which i love! It can be dressed up with heels like i'm wearing, and as easily dressed down too with boots and a leather on top, it definitely has a cool edgy vibe that i look for when dress shopping.

With a next day delivery service and collect in store option House of Fraser are my go to store if i need something last minute, and i'm always popping in to browse what new arrivals they have waiting for me to snap up - plus they have a huge selection and range of designers from Acne to Barbour! I find Label Lab are quite generous with sizing, so don't be afraid to size down to achieve the fit you want :).

The Monday Piece - Knicker Locker Review

This week's Monday Piece is on Knicker Locker review! I adore underwear, lingerie and sleepwear, especially when it's ultra pretty and luxurious. Knicker Locker are an online store specialising in bras, underwear, swimwear and lingerie - plus menswear  too - and have the most beautiful selection of pieces! With brands including Freya, Fantasie, Hanky Panky and LingaDore there are styles and trends to suit all occasions whether it be a special night, celebration or general sassy every day styles! Knicker Locker have size guides too ensuring you pick the right fit and shape, they also have a gift section if you're treating someone which can be lovingly gift wrapped, ideal for making someone's day.

I was sent the stunning Ava chemise by LingaDore for review, it can wrapped in pink tissue paper and boxed (it's always the little things that 'make' a delivery special) - i couldn't wait to slip it on and feel the silky fabric - it's the most beautiful, delicate ballet pink colour and feels so soft and silky, i love how feminine and classy it is with the lace trim, then the lace up back detail definitely adds that little bit of sexiness and cheekiness - i love it and the quality is amazing, it feels thicker than it looks and it holds it's shape while on too, it's stunning and fit's so well too. I've had similar styles from other high street stores before but this one is THE best quality and shape i've ever worn, it's a double thumbs up from me. LingaDore have other similar styles on Knicker Locker, including nightdresses, babydolls and shorts and cami sets, all of which just as luxurious and luscious as the one below!

The Monday Piece - Warmer Days

This week's Monday Piece is on warmer days! It's been so lovely having warmer, dryer days - last weekend was a mega wet one but also a busy one, i spent the bank holiday out for lunch and shopping, had an evening at the boxing, attended a close friend's wedding, then ended it at a chilli festival! So this weekend i've had a chilled one, relaxing in my jeans and and running a few errands, plus enjoying the warmer weather and having a picnic in the garden and some tasty gluten free food at a country pub! My weekends usually revolve around food :).

Wrap Dress and Knee Highs

A quick mid week outfit post today! Wearing my beloved knee high suede boots, I wanted a pair of ridiculous patent pvc thigh highs from Kurt Geiger but when I went to purchase they'd sold out...story of my life. I've had this dress years, literally, and it still feels as good as it did when I first bought it - wrap styles are my saviours!

The Monday Piece - RUSH Birmingham Balayage Review

This week's Monday Piece is on RUSH Birmingham balayage review! I've been wanting to start the balayage process for a while now but wanted to go somewhere i knew i could trust to do a good job, so i went to the RUSH salon in Birmingham to review their very popular balayage service! My hair is fairly long so i want to avoid the 'stripy' or 'blocky' standard ombre, i explained to my lovely stylist Lewis that i was looking for something more natural that blended into my hair that i could then build up as and when i please - Lewis was great and reassured me that they'd make it look as natural as possible, adding in some honey colours to break up the brown a little.

They started off by dying my hair, and left it to develop, once done i went to have it washed off and a toner put in to get rid of any weird colouring the dye might have produced - followed by an amazing Kerastase treatment that left my hair smelling, looking, and feeling amazing! My hair was a little scruffy and needed a tidy up, so Lewis trimmed the ends taking an inch off whilst it was wet to give it a more sleek, healthy appearance. I'm not the biggest fan of having it trimmed as i'm always scared the stylist will take too much off, but Lewis reassured me and showed me exactly how much was going to be taken off which definitely put me more at ease! When blow dried and styled i couldn't wait to see the finished result and how it looked - i was in the salon for around 3 hours so it took a little time, and it was dark outside when we finished, so i'm hoping the pictures have captured the colours well, if not then this blog post also shows the colours nicely in a more natural light. I've included a before, during and after photo so you can see the change!

I'm mega happy with how it looks and as it's a gradual change it wasn't too much to get used to, i'm loving the lighter style and think it'll be great when the weather gets brighter too - Lewis recommended another 2 balayage slots to get to the final result and full ombre style so watch this space! RUSH Birmingham looked after me so well and are awesome at what they do, so if you're after a new salon to go to then definitely check them out!
