The Monday Piece - Premium Glitter Lust List

This week's Monday Piece is on premium glitter lust list! Although i may not seem like a proper 'girly girl' (90% of the time i wear black), when it comes to cute things that i have to have, i am a huge girly girl that loves sparkly, embroidered, beautiful things - who doesn't right? I can't escape the over the top glittery trend - sparkly shoes are an instant winner with me, if they glisten in the light and add a dash of pizzazz to an outfit then i'm all for it. I'd wear the Gucci glitter trainers with a simple white crochet dress for shopping and lunch in the city, they are so much fun and also look mega comfy which is always a bonus. Embellished and jazzy handbags always sneak on to my lust list, the les petits joueurs pom pom bag is adorable and ideal for adding something a little different to an otherwise everyday look, it's on sale at the moment too so watch this space... Embroidered loose dresses are ideal for the warm Aussie weather, they keep you cool and fresh whilst looking ultra pretty so i've got my eye on this Zaful.com beauty as i'm after a couple more like my Metisu dress that i wear so often. Whether i'm dressing something sparkly up or down i love how feminine and fun the pieces make me feel, even if it's just a pair of slightly OTT sunglasses!

RoseGal Ruffle Dress

How cute is this dress from Rosegal? It's ticking all of those Summery boxes - colourful, ruffles, mini length, flirty, cute, fun - i adore it and love the style so much. PLUS, it's only £10.00 which is totally nuts, it feels as good as any readily available high street brand, is decent quality and fits well too. The sizing guide on RoseGal is usually pretty spot on, always check the sizing and comparable sizing chart before you order, i got this in a size medium and am a UK size 8-10 and it fits great! This floral wrap dress isn't mega short either and as it's a wrap style it can be adjusted to fit how you like. I've worn it with my well worn lace up booties and green tinged sunglasses to help me blend into the palm trees.

I wore this yesterday for a day out where i grabbed some lunch in Burleigh and did a bit of weekend retail therapy - today we took a boat trip to go whale watching in the ocean which was amazing, we saw humpback whales in their natural habitat flapping their fins and popping out of the water to say hello, they're currently migrating through the Gold Coast to breed and feed so it's the season to spot them, they are so beautiful and majestic. Definitely check out a boat tour if you're ever in the Gold Coast, it's a great way to see and learn about the ocean and beaches around the area!

The Monday Piece - Melbourne Photo Diary

This week's Monday Piece is on Melbourne Photo Diary! Nick and I just got back from a long weekend in Melbourne, we were so excited to explore the beautiful city and discover all of the culture and history we had heard so much about. Here are some photos from the trip i took with my phone whilst we were out and about - the city is so beautiful and full of interesting architecture (something we don't get so much of on the Gold Coast), we hopped on and off the free inner city tram as this is the vest way to get around the city, visiting all of the tourist hot spots and places of interest.

Some of my top picks include Melbourne Library - a place where you can pick up a book, sit down or study under a huge dome roof, lit with little green lanterns it was mesmerising and so peaceful! The old Melbourne Gaol was fascinating too, the old jail of the city that held the most notorious of Australia's inmates, it was mega spooky but of course so interesting to see the old building and how the inmates were kept and punished. The Shrine of Remembrance is also a must see, built in 1934, the Shrine is the Victorian state memorial to Australians who have served in war and peacekeeping operations throughout the nation’s history - filled with an abundance of artefacts and history, plus breathtaking vistas of Melbourne from the Balcony, it is a touching place to pay your respects as well as taking in the best views of the city. On our last day we escaped the hustle and bustle of the city to spend some time shopping and checking out the eateries that St. Kilda has to offer, plus hanging out at the beach and walking over the boardwalk. Only 6km from the city, the very European feeling cafe society was a result of the influx of cosmopolitan European migrants in the 1950's - it has such a great 'vibe' and is known as Melbourne's beachside playground, a real must do whilst visiting the city.

We had such a great few days in Melbourne, whether your looking for a cultured Australian break, fun at the beach, or a look back in time at the history of the city, there is something for everyone - mixed with a whole host of boutique shopping, places to dine out and great people to meet, Melbourne is the place to be seen.

We've been in Melbourne for the weekend exploring the city so i wanted to get a super quick simple outfit post up from last weekend! Keeping it simple posing on the balcony in an all black outfit for running errands and heading to the cinema, of course i'm cracking out my denim cut offs as always, they're such a staple so i'm keeping an eye out for a few more pairs to add to my collection :).

The Monday Piece - Fresh Face Beauty Want List

This week's Monday Piece is on Fresh Faced Beauty Want List! I'm always looking for new beauty products to give me that fresh faced, natural glow. I like to keep my beauty regime as simple as possible - i'm definitely a fan of the less is more look and always strive for a clear complexion and bright eyed look. I've been browsing through my top online beauty stores for a few new pieces to give me the look i want as well as ultra luxurious looking packaging that will look mega pretty! The Too Faced Love Lights prismatic highlighter comes in the sweetest heart shaped palette complete with mirror, ideal for touch ups on the go - a little highlighter can go a long way, the product itself comes in three different shades too. I'm always drawn to neutrals whether its lipstick or eye products, the NYX Butter Gloss comes in the chicest nude pink 'Eclair' shade and looks so pretty on all skin tones, plus it's great value so it's definitely a guilt free purchase. If i'm looking to splurge on high end then i usually look to Chanel, Dior and YSL, their packaging is always so sleek, timeless and luxurious, and using their products feels like such a treat. I also adore fun products like the Tony Moly panda moisturiser, the products always smell so good and are full of natural ingredients ideal to give a fresh look, plus their designs are the absolute cutest! Do you have your eye on any latest beauty items?

The Monday Piece - Angelic Diamonds

This week's Monday Piece is on Angelic Diamonds!
Pricing up the perfect date around the world
Without having to break the bank, sometimes the perfect date can be hard to find. Everyone loves date night, so why not pick somewhere in the world that won’t break the bank; or if you’re feeling extra generous, why not treat your date to a lavish night somewhere around the world. Together with Angelic Diamonds, retailers of bespoke palladium engagement rings, Angelic Diamonds advises you on making the most of your date no matter where you are in the world, with hidden costs included.

Paris
The true city of romance! Tourists come from far and wide to have a great time with their significant other, and this could be you too. Home to many of the world’s greatest writers and artists, Paris oozes chic everywhere you walk through its many streets.
Taking dates to the next level
The Eiffel Tower on Valentine’s Day is unmatched; this truly is the perfect date. On this day, why not try booking in at 58 Tour Eiffel? It’ll cost you around €120 (£105.63) for each person, however, if you’d like a seat in the window to witness the spectacular views, then you can pay the extra €30 (£26.41) to really take your romance to dizzying heights!
Paris on a budget
You can easily date on a budget in this city – as it is host to some of the most impressive architecture on the planet. As a symbol of their love for one another, many Parisians use padlocks and lock them to the Pont des Arts Bridge, throwing away the key into the water.
The locks only cost a couple of euros each, so it’s probably the cheapest date that you’ll ever go on. Be warned though, as Paris officials are urging couples to stop so that the bridges can be protected; instead, why not take the lock home as a reminder of that great date you had together.
A classic date
The city has many restaurants and cafes, so when you’re bored of exploring and you’d like to relax with French breads and cheeses, head to the nearest one you find. There, a meal for two including wine and dessert will typically cost around €65 (£57.21). Afterwards, if you head over to the cinema, it’ll cost you €20 (£17.60).
New York
It’s up to you New York, and your date of course. The Big Apple offers something for everyone, with the theatres of Broadway, the neon-lit Times Square and skyscrapers like the Empire State Building, the possibilities really are endless.
Come fly with me
Would you like to do something that you and your date have probably never done before? A private helicopter tour of New York’s famous landmarks will set you back around $1,500 (£1,184.40), so you’ll need to get saving if this sounds like the perfect date for you! With unparalleled views of the Empire State Building, the Stature of Liberty and Central Park though, this is the perfect date to get your heart’s racing. Hold on tight!
Walking the famous streets
For a more low-key affair, take a twilight walk around Central Park like Audrey Hepburn did in Breakfast at Tiffany’s to really help set the mood for the evening — what could be better? Or, if you’re feeling peckish, you could go to the restaurant featured in Where Harry Met Sally; you’ll be quoting lines from the film in no time!
Take a walk down to the financial district if that’s not enough for you and your date and you want to feel part of the glamour and excitement of the Wolf of Wall Street. Just be careful, as it’s a jungle out there…
Dining in style
Without heading to the movies, New York wouldn’t be the same, and at the cost of $28 (£22.11) – there’s no one why not. Perhaps a meal would complement this date nicely? Including wine and dessert, you can expect a meal for two to cost you $111 (£87.66). After that, the two of you could paint the town red in some of Manhattan’s best rooftop bars. A cocktail will likely cost $14 (£11.06) and a pint of lager around $7 (£5.53). Enjoy!

Springbrook National Park and Tamborine Mountain

Yesterday we spent the day exploring Springbrook National Park, Mount Tamborine and the Hinterland of the Gold Coast with a friend from work. We'd been wanting to go for ages but you can't get there by public transport so we were chuffed that a friend could take us to show us all of the best spots! You can get to the national parks within about 45 minutes from the middle of the city of the Gold Coast so if you have a car it's easily accessible and an amazing place to go and visit. The scenery is so beautiful and peaceful, the Springbrook rainforest is full of animals and luscious vegetation and smells so fresh and clean, i love all of the exotic rainforest sounds too - we took the easy walking trail which takes between 30-45 minutes and leads you to the caves and waterfall. We spent some time there soaking up the rainforest vibes and enjoying the atmosphere before we headed to Mount Tamborine to explore the rock pools, waterfalls and mountain area. There are lots of different trails and hikes to choose from so we walked to the natural freshwater swimming areas - you can climb over the rocks and explore the hidden areas too which was amazing. After we grabbed a peppermint tea and went to watch the sunset and hand-gliders on the mountain over the Gold Coast, the sky was so golden and magical. It was definitely one of our top places we've visited so far whilst living on the Gold Coast so i very much recommend it, it's such a treat to enjoy the natural environment and get to know the real Australia!
