The Monday Piece - Happy New Year 2018

This week's Monday Piece is on Happy New Year 2018! A quick post to wish everyone a Happy New Year - we had a quiet New Year's Eve with Netflix and a takeaway, then popped outside next to the river at Southbank to watch the fireworks with lots of spectators which was awesome! I've included a snap of the beach at St. Kilda too as we spent some time there last week to enjoy the Summer sun :).

The Monday Piece - Pink Gingham Shorts

This week's Monday Piece is on pink gingham shorts! It's Christmas Day so i wanted to get a few outfit snaps up to show what i wore this weekend - we had a pretty relaxing weekend preparing for Christmas, getting lots of tasty food and snacks, and we went ice skating too which was so much fun. I wore these mega cute gingham pink shorts, i adore how light the linen fabric is and the print is fun and girly, i wore them with a few pieces i picked up at a sample sale and my Marc Jacobs leather bucket bag! Have a great Christmas!

Teenager Gift Guide

Teenagers are so tricky to buy for, whether it's your family or a friend, it's always difficult trying to find them something they don't already have! I've been browsing for some teenager friendly gifts that are useful and fun - i always start by finding comfy things, you can't really go wrong with a fluffy dressing gown as they're super cosy and great for the chilly winter weather. Stocking fillers like a phone case, character mug, or notebook are reasonably priced and make great token gestures if you just want to buy something small that is still practical and personal. If you're looking to splash a little more dollar then a cashmere Burberry scarf is definitely something special - it's classic, versatile and timeless too. Other clothing like a Tommy Hilfiger t-shirt or a pair of silky pyjamas always come in useful too!
When browsing for kids gifts i always keep an eye out for clothing and shoes as well as toys and games, the River Island kids knitwear has a cute and cosy selection of pieces for girls that would make awesome gifts for little ones. They also have accessories and shoes so check out their gift guide if you need some last minute present inspiration for your trendy tot!

The Monday Piece - Christmas Jumper Want List

This week's Monday Piece is on Christmas jumper want list! If you fancy getting in the spirit of the festivities over Christmas, nothing says i love Christmas like a ridiculous jumper - i've selected some fun styles to keep you warm as well as well as looking fun. The Guns N' Roses jumper is definitely a great mix of Christmas spirit and grunge, i'd wear it with some skinny jeans and a leather for a more chilled out look. I also love the alternative styles like the Glamorous Happy Crustmas raglan sleeved top, because Christmas trees and pizza are the ideal match, also it's mega easy to wear and not too over the top. The classic Santa styles are so classic and great for layering on a chilly winter walk, to keep my toes extra warm i always finish off a cosy Christmas outfit with some knitted socks or fluffy slippers. Are you a Christmas jumper fan?

The Monday Piece - Cute Stocking Filler Ideas

This week's Monday Piece is on cute stocking filler ideas! Christmas is creeping up on us and i'm not organised at all with my Christmas shopping so i've been browsing online looking for some mega cute and fun stocking filler ideas. There are definitely a few items that most people are familiar with when opening up their stockings on Christmas morning - fluffy socks are always a fab gift as they're ideal for keeping cold toes toasty warm and are great to snuggle in a blanket with after lots of yummy Christmas food, and this pair are only £5.99 so definitely budget friendly. Classic and useful gifts like a sleek moleskine notebook always come in handy, and the set of boxed coloured pencils would complete the creative present! Stocking filler's should always be fun - themed gifts like the Harry Potter phone case and Hello Kitty mug set are so cute and are inexpensive - i also love the hedgehog shaped Peter Alexander tea infuser, simply fill it with some tasty loose flavoured tea and let it sit inside your mug to diffuse, it's adorable!

Zaful Velvet Embroidered Shorts

The weather in Melbourne is so up and down but it means i get to wear more 'normal' clothes which is a bonus, these Zaful velvet embroidered shorts are so comfy and are great for funny weather days! I've had a hectic weekend working and making the most of my afternoons in the city - yesterday we went to Melbourne Museum for a fun fact finding day, they have a great palaeontology section where you can chat to volunteers about projects they're working on and check out the fossils which i loved, definitely check it out if you ever find yourself with some free time in Melbourne. Today we went to the casino to watch the boxing then had a mooch around the giant casino complex which is always eventful, they have huge Christmas decorations too at this time of year which look mega festive and pretty!

The Monday Piece - Faux Fur Want List

This week's Monday Piece is on faux fur want list! There are so many cruelty free options available when it comes to fur, footwear and accessories so i've found some of the best of what the high street has to offer. The teddy bear style coat from H&M looks so soft, cosy and warm - it's ideal for wearing in the city with some skinny jeans and boots. Skinny Dip have an amazing selection of faux fur jackets, i can't keep myself away from the pink bomber jacket, it's so much fun! It's no secret that Stella McCartney is the brand to go to when looking for a cruelty free bag, the mini star print falabella bag is not over the top girly but looks glam with the added crystals. Sparkly things always catch my eye, especially in December, so the Topshop star print cami top is great for nights out or layered under a giant faux fur coat with some slip on mules and a pom pom hat!
