The Monday Piece - Sabo Skirt Lace Up Top

This week's Monday Piece is on Sabo Skirt lace up top! We've been having some seriously hot hot hot days with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius...so it can be tricky wearing much more than a bikini with the intention of keeping cool, so i'm always reaching out for something light and linen to keep me fresh for at least a few minutes when i'm not hiding in the air conditioning! I picked up this lace up sailor style top from Sabo Skirt where i pretty much want to spend all my wages come payday because it has the cutest and most Summer friendly designs everrrrr. I've been mega busy this month with day trips to new places, adventures, and generally being a busy city person in Melbourne which is hectic but awesome!

The Monday Piece - Luxury January Basics

This week's Monday Piece is on luxury January basics! The first month of the new year is ideal for adding a few more good quality basics to your style, whether it's an everyday cosy bobble hat or a pair of classic Helmut Lang skin tight leather trousers, great basics last so well and are great for layering as well as being worn alone. I usually stick to neutral colours when spending a little more $$$ as they're more versatile and simple, i've always been a fan of the Alexander Wang slub t-shirts, they're mega comfy and are fab for when you want to throw something easy on with jeans and boots! My skin always needs a bit of a freshen up in January, i've been using and absolutely loving the Stila Heaven's Hue highlighter, it's mega easy to apply and is like a ray of sunshine on your face, definitely recommend it!

The Monday Piece- Phillip Island Snapshot

This week's Monday Piece is on Phillip Island snapshot! Last weekend Nick and I took a trip out of the city and headed to Phillip Island to enjoy the beautiful scenery and fresh open air. The island is fairly small and has a little town as it's hub, where you can shop, eat out, and enjoy the beach. The island plays host to the world's smallest penguins as their burrows are nestled into the sand dunes off the beaches, at sunset we waited for their anticipated arrival as they hopped out of the ocean and waddled up to the dunes to feed their chicks. We were only a few feet away from them as they quietly played and enjoyed the safety of the darkness out of sight of unwanted predators. There's a huge conservation programme surrounding the penguins, and you can only view them within a secluded area not accessible unless you enter through a ticketed entrance. It was such a magical experience, any photography is strictly prohibited so we stuck to the rules and let the penguins do their thing, i've added a few snaps below of the beautiful island and the rugged sea line!

New In - Gucci Star Print Trainers

I'd been lusting after these Gucci trainers for what felt like an eternity...until i finally managed to get my hands on them as they were a surprise birthday present from Nick, eeeeek. There was much excitement and i was a little unsure if they'd live up to the hype and my expectations as i'd wanted them for so long, but i can report they are as awesome as expected! They fit really well, the Gucci sizing is really unusual but the staff in store at pro's at size converting so it's all good, if ordering online then definitely seek assistance as the Italian sizing comes up really big. They slip on a treat and are super soft inside, so they are mega comfy and ideal for being on your feet all day. I love the white leather style with the metallic stars, on the back of each shoe it has the GUCCI logo and odd colours which adds even more jazz to them. I've been wearing them with jeans and a t-shirt for casual days, and mini skirts and shirts for a more tailored style too, they are ultra versatile and feel such a treat to wear! Are you a fan of snazzy sneakers?

The Monday Piece - Plush Lounge Wear Want List

This week's Monday Piece is on plush lounge wear want list! I am a total sucker for getting in after work and throwing on my most comfy, soft lounge wear for the evening. Or when you're chilling out or having a Netflix day and you need to pop to the shops for something quickly at the weekend but still want to look 'acceptable', the neutral, comfy styles below are ideal! The soft pink PJ Salvage bottoms are a pretty ballet pink colour, they'd look great with a grey top or hoodie and look mega relaxed but not too sloppy or PJ like. It's definitely a love or hate brand but i can't help but sneak in a little bit of fun in the form of Juicy Couture - the Robertson velour hoodie is not at all brash, but definitely has me reminiscing about 'The Simple Life' which i desperately need to re-watch! Candles and cute things always add something extra to my downtime, a sweet smelling Diptyque vanilla candle is great for adding a little Parisian chic, and teamed with a fluffy blanket it's ultra cosy.
