The Monday Piece - Olivia Palermo

Happy Monday everyone, today's piece is on the American socialite, model and actress Olivia Palermo.
Daughter to a real estate entrepreneur Palermo had a privileged upbringing, attending expensive schools and socialising among the elites of the upper east side. She started to be photographed in New York and became a style sensation almost overnight. She was then paraded on the socialite circuit attending charity events and auctions - although her main route to fame was via The Hills spin off series, The City where she appeared alongside Whitney Port. She used this opportunity to start her acting career, in the show she worked for fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg as well as Elle magazine. Her style was and is portrayed as polished, feminine and fashion forward; she mixes high street pieces, particularly Topshop and Zara, with designer items to showcase her keen eye for detail and style.
As well as her acting role in The City, Palermo has modelled on the cover of top fashion magazines like Elle, Tatler and Marie Claire - she also fronted a campaign for high street favourite MANGO. She is also famed for her fresh and perfect hair and make up, her hair is usually worn down and naturally tousled, it's always super shiny and in great condition, her make up is dewy with a smoky eye and always looks fabulous!
