Hope you have had a good start to the week. This Monday's Piece is on British fashion and home furnishings designer Cath Kidston.
I have recently started going to the gym again as I am in need of some toning up, thus today I was on the hunt for a new gym bag - I wanted something practical, waterproof and of course pretty! Whilst strolling through town I found this grey polka dot Cath Kidston bag, it's quite big do I can fit all my kit in there as well as trainers and my day to day stuff I need for work - its the 1st picture down! The bag cost me £20 reduced from £28, not bad for something which will prove so useful. So this was my inspiration for this weeks Piece!
Kidston is famed for her shabby chic style and cute floral and polka dot prints, her range covers anything from gorgeous girly bed spreads to handbags and sewing prints. She has many fans including Kate Middleton and the Saturdays Mollie King. Kidston herself was described by the Guardian newspaper as 'Queen of Florals' as she is so well known for her vintage inspired floral prints.
She opened her first store in Notting Hill, London in 1993 where she sold embroidered tea towels and eclectic renovated furniture. The shop was a huge success. Her stores now venture across the UK, Ireland, Japan and Thailand. The designs are classic, quirky, and feminine, whilst the products are always good value and fantastic quality.
Her hard work and success has earned her an MBE and widespread popularity with many cult followers.
Do you own anything Cath Kidston?
Do you like the floral or polka dot prints?

I love Cath Kidston designs. I did some Cath Kidston inspired nail art on my blog a while back.
ReplyDeleteOut here where I'm living currently all Cath Kidston stuff is ridiculously priced. A shopper bag is more like 50-60 quid. So you did get a major bargain especially when you compare it to what the Korean people pay for them! Yours is lovely! :)

I definitely love Cath Kidston. I did not know her since I saw a wonderful bag on a girl when I was studying in Leeds, and I tried in all possible ways to read the famous label on the bag..but I couldn't see it properly so...I stopped the girl to ask her where she bought the bag :D
ReplyDeleteThree days later I had my two first Cath Kidston bags :DD
