Pineapple dance sportswear

Hello, i hope you're having a great day whatever your up to. If you've been reading my blog for a little while you may have heard me talking about fitness/the gym/30 day shred - my Mum is a fitness instructor so as a family we have always been very active and i really enjoy exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Pineapple is a brand i have always been aware of, their dance studios and fitness wear is now world famous, especially after the TV show, so it was fab being able to try out some of the sportswear.

The range is full of different styles, i love the oversized and slim fit hoodies, that are perfect for putting on for a dance/work out warm up, and they all have matching bottoms and tops too. So, i met my Mum a few nights ago where she put me through my paces in the dance studio to test out the range; a combination of weights, cardio and stretching is all you need to shape up, 30 minutes, five times a week. Whether it's a weights class, a ballet/dance class, yoga, swimming or boxing, you will start to notice the results within days, plus the endorphins released whilst exercising makes you feel so much better, fitter, and healthier. High interval training is also really effective and fits in well with a busy lifestyle - again it's just 20-25 minutes a day, four or five times a week, you can even buy a DVD that you can do in the comfort of your own living room.

The outfits felt great on, looked awesome and coped with the different exercises really well, the outfits didn't stretch or sag and the fit and sizing was spot on - i loved the form fitting outfit for stretching and cardio as it kept me nice and cool, and the tracksuit was lovely and loose kept me warm and comfy doing a few basic warm up moves, as well as being cosy to wear to and from the studio! I can definitely recommend these styles and will continue to wear them in the gym.

The range of clothing at Pineapple is not only sporty and stylish, but affordable and comfy too, there's a huge range to choose from for all styles of fitness and dance.

I'm hoping to do more fitness type things, so i hope you enjoyed it. I'd love to know if you have any difficult workout regimes - i always like a challenge :)

What I wore today - Zara mint chiffon jumper and glitter loafers

Ooh it's chilly, you can see my cold red nose in these photos, oops. It's been brought to my attention (by my Mum) that i wear beanies too much...how cheeky - she told me off last night for it whch is annoying as i've seen two neon ones i'm tempted to buy but she's put me off. Problem is, i've got quite long hair and as soon as the wind blows it turns into one fat dread lock so the hat keeps it in place a little more, so there is logic to it! Also there's a ridiculous amount of clouds around so if it rains the top of my head is protected, i'm not a fan of frizzy hair. Anyhow, this little jumper is another sale purchase, a bargain at £12.99 from Zara, the back has a slight drop hem and is chiffon, i'm loving anything pale mint/pastel as it looks nice and fresh ready for Spring - i can't believe the Zara sale is still on, i went in on Saturday and they have little t-shirts, tops and trousers for as little as £3.99, it's definitely worth a rummage for as there was plenty of 'good' stuff left! Hope you enjoy your Wednesday :)

Guest Post - Spring/Summer 2013 trends

I always love to see how the trends on the runway are filtered down to the high street and how they are made “wearable” for people like me. Some of the big trends we’ve seen are monochrome, 60s, fluorescent, lace and oriental. I’ve chosen a few pieces that I think are bang on trend but will last, as there is nothing I hate more than falling in love with a piece and as quickly as I can wear it, it’s out of style. For me it’s all about finding the balance between something that’s stylish, in budget and will stand the test of time

A trend that never goes away is the metallic trend. We see silver and gold on the runway time and time again so if you invest in a metallic piece it will stand you in good stead. Personally I don’t like to go too over the top with this trend as I don’t want to end up looking like the tin man so I think these prom dresses are great for nights out as they incorporate a little of the trend but are still not over the top. Metallic is also a great trend for accessories as anything silver or gold is never going to go out of style.

Prints and graphics were big on the runways with everyone from Hermes to Marc Jacobs getting in on the action. The main patterns we saw were Asian prints, camouflage and deconstructed prints. All are really easy to wear; you just have to let them make a statement. Personally I’m drawn to the deconstructed prints as I think you can accessorise them so easily. With a multi-coloured dress pull any of the colours that you like in there and go wild with your shoes and bag. This is a great trend because it can be translated to all ages, genders and preferences. You can have a graphic print on everything from a shirt to a handbag so it is definitely one worth experimenting with.

Every so often I come across a dress that is just so on trend it hurts. This little beauty is coving three trends at once. Monochrome, check. Ruffles, check. Checks, check! If you are looking for a key piece to update your wardrobe this could be it. Not only is it so current that it hits on three different trends it is also timeless. It’s not often that one dress manages this but the black and white check combination is going nowhere. This is also a great dress for anyone who wanted to try the ruffles trend without bringing back the 80s. You could literally be wearing this dress for years to come.

I hope you enjoyed todays *guest post* featuring Spring/Summer 2013 trends!

The Monday Piece - My hair and tips for hair growth

I get asked quite a bit about my hair so thought I'd do a post for it! The majority of women in my family have long, dark hair, and it tends to grow quite quickly which is good. I love having long hair and rarely get it cut or dye it - I generally try to avoid hairdressers at all costs!
In terms of products, I use only a few as I don't like the the thought of loads of chemicals on my hair.
This range of shampoo and conditioner is amazing, it's really natural, leaves my hair so smooth, and strengthens it too so it's less prone to breakage. It's part of the Herbalife range which specialises in natural body and beauty products. I use my Enrapture styler to curl and style my hair, it easily lasts 2 days and is much more non damaging than other stylers.

Here's a list of my hair 'rules' (these work for me but I'm not an expert!)

1. Never brush hair when wet, use a wide toothed comb
2. Don't use hair spray as it snaps your hair
3. Use macademia oil when wet to smooth and soften the hair
4. Don't over use heat - straighteners/dryers/curlers
5. Use a non damaging bobble and clip to put hair up
6. Wash hair every other day
7. Shampoo twice then use lots of conditioner and leave on for 5 minutes
8. Brush hair every morning and night with a paddle brush
9. Use a moisturising shampoo and conditioner, VO5 is a great cheap alternative available everywhere
10. Try not to touch/play with hair too much

If your having trouble growing hair then multivitamins are also quite good, and don't cut it - hairdressers say having a trim will make the hair grow faster and thicker...I don't believe this and has never worked for me! But I'd definitely say the less products the better and try to keep them natural.

I hope my little tips help you, they're quite simple but really work for me, long live long hair!

What I wore today - FD Avenue bones heart vest

Just a quick one to show you my casual weekend outfit - I hope you've had a great weekend whatever you've been up to. I've spent it in Cardiff where it's been so windy and cold - these sunglasses are unnecessary but thought they looked nice! I picked them up whilst shopping yesterday, they were only £2.50 from Primark, I usually find it hard getting sunglasses to it my face as its quite small, but luckily these seem to fit quite well. I picked up a few other bits too which I'll be showing you soon! We went to the cinema last night to watch Flight with Denzel Washington in, what a legend, then went for Sunday dinner/steak at a little pub in the middle of nowhere today so it's been a busy weekend - must dash as I've got packing to do, have a fab Sunday evening :)

Well, it's Friday again, who knew?! I've just finished a big plate of thai food, plus i had a massive latte from costa with cream and caramel sauce at lunch, feeling full but not overly satisfied - Friday's are my greedy day! I'm still doing the 30 day shred, i'm on day 25 today so not long left, i'm looking forward to doing a full write up on it soon. I've got a few new bits to show you today from Fashion Union - "Fashion Union is fresh, full of attitude and on-trend; ready to cater for all of you fashionistas out there" - well i agree, they have an enormous selection of clothes, shoes and accessories. This oversized ombre shirt is great to throw on with leggings and boots, it'll also looks fab undone with a little bandeau/crop top underneath for when it gets a little warmer. I've also jumped on the disco pant band wagon, this pair are stretchy so are easy to wiggle in and out of, no struggling or sweating involved here folks! What I wore today - Sheinside Bart Simpson jumper

As you will know, i do love a novelty jumper, and this one is c-r-a-z-y - i've had some amazing looks in town, some good, some bad but i love it sooo much i couldn't care less! It's slouchy, oversized, with Bart Simpson's face all over it...what's not to love?! I was too excited when i opened the package and saw his little face staring up at me, ha! The colours clash with my hat but i quite like the brightness of it all...something a little different at least. Also the Sheinside shipping was super fast, it only took 5 working days and it came all the way from China, the packaging is always very secure too so i can recommend it, plus i truly believe everyone should have something this fun in their wardobes! Enjoy the rest of today, would love to know what you think of my outfit!

The Monday Piece - Voodoo Girl Couture

I've been too excited to share this amazing, new brand with you all - Voodoo Girl Couture. Kooky, grunge, quirky, fresh are just a few of the words that come to mind when describing the brand; created by Katia who was inspired by travelling the world and reworking her old clothes to keep them unique, Voodoo Girl Couture was born. You can find an abundance of acid brights, pastels, and even Zombie Barbie in their mesmerising online store, printed t-shirts and daring cut off shorts and crop tops. I truly believe this brand is going to massive, all items are styled just how I'd wear them, I just wish I could have pastel ombré pink and purple hair like the models! This tie dye cut off sweater I'm wearing, branded with the Voodoo Girl bones logo, is a new favourite; super soft raglan feel material, relaxed fit and fresh design, my wishlist from the site is nothing less than huge! I know you'll all love Voodoo Girl as much as me, plus their store has an awesome website, blog and more, enjoy!

What I wore today - Fashion Union monochrome printed shirt

Today was spent at a local farm yard/cafe place in Worcestershire, there were lots of cute animals like reindeer and goats! I love nature and wildlife and animals so it was lovely, I usually pop over to the shops on weekends but sometimes I just fancy something a little different. I did get changed as unfortunately these shoes weren't practical in the mud...I definitely would have ruined them which would be criminal really. I'm loving the monochrome trend so thought I'd do my take on it - this shirt is amazing, untucked it's oversized and quite long too so is great with leggings, though I thought a skirt would be a nice change for me as I've been living in black leggings/trousers recently! I hope you're having a great weekend, would be great to here what you think of how I've styled my monochrome items :)

What I wore today - Red or dead galaxy jumper

Space and pastel colours, plus a few sparkly bits, makes for an amazing jumper day. I hope you're having a good day whether you celebrate Valentine's day or not; i don't celebrate it as i don't really get it, i'm not all that sentimental to be honest. Also i just see it as my little brothers birthday who's eleven today, my sister and i bought him a tablet case which he seems to be pleased with - kids today eh, things have changed alot since i was eleven!
I awkwardly chased a girl down the high street on my lunch break as she was wearing THE most amazing coat, when i asked where it was from i was hoping she was going to say Topshop or River Island or somewhere like that...nope it was from The Kooples which is very out of my price range, it was so sad, i loved that coat...i'll be ok wipes tear from cheek...ha!
Hope you like my outfit :)

What I wore today; BANK spiked lita boots

I hope you're having a good Wednesday whatever you're up too, i'm working away, hiding from the horrors of the outside world! Just about to head out on my lunch break but thought i'd quickly write this post up beforehand - i'm going to pop to the shops and have a browse, so sad to hear that Republic have gone into administration today, it takes up a large chunk of the high street in Worcester and will be sorely missed - shopping is not what it used to be, with online retailers taking over and an increasing number of high street stores closing down, the future doesn't look great - i buy equally as much online and in store, but i can see why it is tempting to do most shopping on the internet - convenience being the main factor. However, i'll always be a high street girl and love being able to browse whilst trying things on, time will tell i guess but i'm hoping the high street fights back and can be restored to how it used to be!
Are you an online or in store shopper?
Keep warm :)
