Front Row Shop Duster Coat

I've not seen The Matrix but apparently this coat makes me look like Neo? Sooo i googled it and it's a man, what a compliment...but i don't really care because i love it, i've been after a duster coat for a while and this one is amazing! It's a one size fits all, so depending on how you want it to look it can fit all shapes and sizes - it also detaches at the middle so you can wear it as a cropped mac too. I've turned up the sleeves and worn it loose, Front Row Shop have such cool stuff, it's all quite simple and classic which I like - and they have some awesome co-ords! I hope you like my outfit :).

Milan May 2014

I mentioned previously that G and I took a little vacay to Milan last weekend for four days, so here is the post where i can share with you some of the snaps from the trip! We kind of fell in love with the whole city really, it's so beautiful and the buildings are stunning, plus it's really well laid out with loads of transport links so it's easy to get around by hopping on and off the underground and trams. When we first arrived we strolled around, explored the area near our hotel and ventured into the main square - the weather was hot and sunny, which always makes me happy, but also meant we didn't have to rush and stuff which was nice!

We were so excited to go to the Duomo, a huge gothic cathedral in the centre of Milan, which was SO insane - we walked up the tiny, narrow staircase to get to the top where you have views of the whole city which was amazing, but did make me feel a little sick as it's so high up! There's an old shopping centre next to the Duomo so of course we had a look around there too - the shops were mega posh, and were mostly designer (Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Chanel etc.) but there were also some high street shops like Zara which had chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, a sweeping staircase where everything was spotless and beautifully laid out. The people of Milan were friendly too, and oh so well dressed, so it was good to just wander about people watching and relaxing.

One of my favourite places was the park, where there's castles, ponds with wildlife, and lots of people chilling out eating gelato - which we ate lots of, one evening we stopped off at a traditional gelato shop and bumped into some local firemen and nuns who were also getting gelato, so cool, i opted for the pistachio because it's the best! I'm always a little worried eating abroad as i'm coeliac, but thankfully the Italians are really clued up on it so there was gluten free pizza, pasta, bread and everything in between - i ate loads, obviously, and it was super tasty! The break was fab, and Milan is so chic and chilled out, i 100% recommend it to everyone of all ages if you're looking to book a little trip away!

I hope you enjoy the pictures :).

Shusole Cleated Sole Heels

I hope you had a great bank holiday weekend! Me and G spent it in Cardiff and by the seaside, the weather was rubbish so we did some shopping, lots of eating and took a stroll across the beach so it was a fun weekend! I recently bought this dress from Zara, i wanted something light and cute for Spring so it seemed a good choice. It's fully lined and has a fit and flare style that i don't usually go for as it's quite girly, but i'm really happy with it and the low back is a nice touch too. If you're not into navy and white they do a pastel yellow and white version which is so pretty! Also wearing these awesome cleated sole platform shoes from Shusole - they're mega high but really comfy as the platform is chunky, they're not heavy either and are fab for parties and events!

The Monday Piece - Slides

This week's Monday Piece is on slides - i mentioned in my previous post i'd bought a pair so here they are! I must admit i was a little relieved when this style started popping up in magazines and the high street as this Summer's shoe trend, as they are just so comfy and easy to wear! I originally chose a pair of classic Adidas plastic slides, but when they were delivered they were so small and didn't feel too great, so instead found this Park Lane pair on ASOS. I love the calf hair effect and criss cross straps, i've been wearing them with skinny jeans and oversized tees!

Crusade Clothing Playsuit

I'm so excited to get an outfit post up! I've been super busy this last week and had a trip to Milan too, so there's been lots going on. But i'm back, even if the horrible rain is here to stay making pictures a little more difficult than usual! This fab playsuit from Crusade Clothing is  a great piece for warmer days, i've teamed it with my oriental print kimono from Love and some gladiator sandals - i've recently bought into the slides craze so i'll have an outfit post up with those soon! I'll also be posting about my trip to Milan so keep an eye out for that, i hope you enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend :).

1951 Maison Francaise at The Dressing Room

I hope you are having a good week so far! The ever so trendy ladies over at The Dressing Room sent me this awesome leather purse on a string pouch bag, by 1951 Maison Francaise, to stuff full of things i can't be without if i'm heading out to a Summer event. The soft leather and pouch style means you can fit quite a lot inside - i've included my large Samsung Galaxy Note 2, sunglasses, card holder, perfume, lip liner, concealer, lip balm, blister plasters and a mini moisturiser! Make up touch ups are usually required so i like to carry a few basics with me to do so throughout the day, the perfume keeps me smelling nice and blister plasters are so handy if i'm wearing uncomfy heels.
The detachable chain strap means it can be carried as a clutch, slipped into a larger travel bag, or worn with the chain as a cross body/shoulder bag so it's extra versatile - i love the embossed leather zip pull, and the printed red cotton lining is so pretty! I recommend checking out the full range of 1951 Maison Francaise bags, there's so many colours to choose from, here :).

The Monday Piece - Selfridges Birmingham Beauty Hall

This week's Monday Piece is on the fantastic new Beauty Hall at Selfridges Birmingham. Selfridges have recently launched a huge beauty campaign across their stores, named The Beauty Project, it's all about how people define beauty, what being beautiful is all about, and how to find beauty in everyone! You can find lots of beauty related things going on in your local Selfridges, from talks with professional make up artists, to skin care workshops, google hangouts and limited edition products - you can see the full timetable here.

On Wednesday night we were invited to a party at Selfridges Birmingham, to celebrate the launch of the new Beauty Hall in connection with The Beauty Project. We started with champagne on the balcony, and chatting with other guests, then were led downstairs to a staged area where we were told to wait for an important guest performance! The ladies told us all about The Beauty Hall and how it's the biggest luxury beauty department outside of London - you could instantly tell so much work had gone into it, and the staff were so positive, excited and proud to show it off. The performance then started and we were open mouth shocked when Kelis came out and started singing - dressed in a multicolour dress and big high heels, she looked incredible and sounded amazing! Strutting around the stage and being a general goddess, it was such a special performance - thank you Selfridges!

Following the beautiful Kelis, we were given time to browse the beauty hall and test out the products with some more champagne and yummy food - it's absolutely massive, and very glossy and new - featuring brands including Chanel, Illamasqua, Mac, Charlotte Tilbury and Jo Malone (and many more) it's a beauty lovers paradise. There's a dedicated area to perfume too, where you can find rare, exclusive brands as well as other well known fragrances. The Beauty Hall environment looks and feels so luxurious, plus there are lots of staff on hand to assist with any purchases or treatments. As well as beauty and fragrance, there are also hair and skin care stations, again with lots of exclusive products and treatments!

It was such an exciting evening, with surprises and treats to take away, The Beauty Hall at Selfridges Birmingham is not to be missed, and the Beauty Project is running nationwide until June 12th - please do check it out!

What I Wore Today - Hengelo Becksondergaard Granny Clutch

I've been a fan of Becksondergaard for a while now, and have built up a little collection of thier scarves that i can't get enough of, the collection is growing meaning there's lots of new accessories available, including bags and jewelery. This fab clutch bag, available from Hengelo, is named the 'Granny' clutch - i guess because of it's traditional, classic shell shape and top closing clasp? Though it definitely has a modern feel to it - the soft cracked metallic leather feels amazing and inside it has a built in coin purse and card slot, so it's ideal as a little clutch! Plus the shimmery look is great for glamming up an outfit or taking it on a night out/to an event. I hope you like my outfit :).

Crusade Clothing

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Today i'm showing off an awesome clothing website, Crusade Clothing - as seen on lots of celebs, Crusade Clothing is a UK run site specialising in glam dresses, and vintage clothing. Cami dresses are proving to be mega popular again this Summer, due to their lightweight feel and easy going laid back fit, they're so versatile and are lovely to wear. I love the criss cross detail of this dress as it makes it a little different to simple versions, the arm cuff is from Crusade Clothing too and has a shiny holographic finish! I definitely recommend checking them out as they have lots of cool stuff, they are always getting new pieces in and tweet their best sellers and limited editions over at @CrusadeClothing :).

The Monday Piece - Debenhams Intu Merry Hill Event

This week's Monday Piece is on the Debenhams beauty event at Intu Merry Hill I went to on Saturday. Myself and some other Midlands bloggers were invited down to Debenhams at Intu Merry Hill for an afternoon of beauty, skin care and goodies - i started off at Elemis where the knowledgeable assistants taught me about the brand, and gave me some tips on what i can do to improve my skin care routine. All of the products smelled so good, and i loved the fresh feel to everything! Elemis don't test on animals, which i think is amazing and definitely encourages me to buy from the brand.
I then popped over to Elizabeth Arden for a lip workshop - i never really think of pampering my lips and usually give them a once over with some Vaseline and that's it, so was interested to hear about what care we should give our lips and what products are best. I was shown how to exfoliate my lips and how to prep them for products like lipstick/gloss, then gave them a slick of love with the Elizabeth Arden eight hour intensive lip balm which left them sooooo soft and nourished!
Next up was Juicy Couture to sniff out the new fragrances and experiment with the different flavours of Summer, i love Juicy fragrances as they always sit well on my skin, and have a light, flirty scent which i love - the two new Malibu themed fragrances are super fruity, there's a quiz to determine which Juicy girl you are and which fragrance you should pick so that was fun too!
Lastly i headed to Urban Decay to have my make up done - they gave me colourful eyes and a bit of glitter so was feeling quite glam, they also showed off the new bright coloured eye palettes that are so different from the Naked range but ideal for nights out and jazzing up a simple Summer outfit!
All of the ladies and gents were so helpful and i learned so much about beauty and skin care, we were treated to some amazing goodies from the brands and had an amazing afternoon!
Full details about Debenhams Intu Merry Hill can be found, here.
