Accessorize #OURJOURNEY

I hope you are having a good week so far. Accessorize have recently launched their new birthday video, #OURJOURNEY - as they celebrate 30 years of fashion and accessories in London with beautiful bags and amazing jewelled pieces! There are lots of new Summer bags available featuring pretty soft pastel colours, bold embellished prints, as well as simple, on trend pieces like the cute white backpack i've got my eye on! Whether you're after a statement clutch, evening bag or every day holdall there's lots to choose from.

As always the Accessorize jewellery is beautifully detailed, with stacking rings and bracelets, layering necklaces and vintage style earrings, there's a selection for all tastes and budgets - some of my favourites are the delicate necklaces and tribal pieces, they have a boho, Summery vibe to them. I've also been looking at the new shoes, i love the metallic flip flops and strappy leather sandals, the bikinis and beach wear are also great for Summer holidays away somewhere exotic, the crochet styles are top of my holiday shopping list!

Accessorize also have a new 'Love London' collection with a patriotic colour palette of red, white and Navy giving the pieces a fashionably British flair - the fashion road trip starts in London, our capital city of style. Watch the video below to find out more and see the Spring/Summer jewellery, bags and accessories in action!

Puma Classic Trainers

Extreme windy conditions aren't the best when you have long hair, i'll be fighting with my tangle teezer later on to get the dreads out. I hope you had a lovely weekend, we went over to Cardiff  so on Saturday i popped over to Bristol to meet up with my favourite girls from uni, we don't see each other very often so when we do reunite it's a big deal! We started by having lunch in Zizzi's as they have a yummy gluten free menu, then did a little shopping followed by a trip to the pub to watch the rugby - England won which is always good, and it was so much fun to see the girls and have a good catch up - we first met each other over 6 years ago and we all get on so well so it was amazing to see each other and reminisce! On Sunday me and G went into Cardiff where he surprised me with a trip to Clogau where i was treated to the prettiest new ring, such a treat!
I'm a huge sneaker/trainer addict so these Puma Classics are a very welcome addition to the shoe family, the grey suede and white soles are an awesome combination and it's like walking on tiny clouds they're that comfy! I picked up this jumper in the Zara sale (i'm addicted) for £7.99 and love it, the boxy shape and sporty number print is well in my confort zone, i hope you like my outfit :).

The Monday Piece - PVC

This week's Monday Piece is on PVC. Shiny, vinyl and PVC fabrics are a little niche and quirky but right up my street, they've been knocking around on the high street for a little while so thought it was time to get on board the PVC train as it seems it's here to stay. This pale pink skirt from Bank Fashion is a skater shape and feels so girly and cute, i accidently ordered a size too big, but nothing a little sellotape can't sort out - also it's only £20, total bargain!  I've worn it with a cropped pastel blue fluffy jumper which is mega soft and cosy, and my chunky Topshop boots that rarely leave my tootsies. Are you a fan of the PVC trend?

Pastel Blue

I spotted this Zara jacket a little while ago and instantly fell in love, i don't know if it's the pastel blue coloured faux leather, or the understated silver hardware - probably a mix of the two, but i do know that i like it...a lot. It's sold out online, i saw it last week in Birmingham but didn't buy it, rookie mistake as its vanished from most other stores - you snooze you lose. The other bits and bobs have also caught my eye, the chunky slip on mules, Tokyo Jane bracelets and Olivia Burton watch will finish off an outfit nicely!
What have you got your eye on?

Inlovewithfashion Pastel Pink Wrap Dress

Snapped these pics before realising there was a scrumpled up old newspaper lurking in the background, ah well. Pale, pastel pink is an ideal colour for Spring, it's so light and fresh - this chiffon wrap dress from Inlovewithfashion is dreamy to wear and so floaty! I have the grey version too which is a different fabric, the new version is fully lined and the fabric is slightly thicker too so it's definitely been improved. When it gets warmer i'll be losing the leggings but for now they're keeping my milk bottle legs warm :).

Fashion Union Tailored Jumpsuit

I hope you're having a good week so far! The sun has popped out for a cheeky hello so i thought it would be a good opportunity to pop on this tailored jumpsuit from Fashion Union. I'm loving smart, tailored pieces recently and this is so classic and easy to wear, the gold belt around the middle pulls in my waist nicely too. It's quite slim fitting which i like, and can be dressed up with jazzy shoes like this fluffy pair from Topshop, and an embossed Tokyo Jane bracelet from boutique Hengelo! I hope you like my outfit :).

Barcelona February 2014

Last week we took a little three night trip to Barcelona to celebrate our six year anniversary and Valentine's Day, i'd been before but only for a flying visit, so was looking forward to relaxing in a  hotel and exploring the city! After arriving at the hotel early evening we were a little groggy from the flight so popped to a little shop next door to stock up on Spanish crisps and sweeties - i was apprehensive about food labelling due to being coeliac, but everything was clearly marked and there was lots of choice for gluten free folk like myself, hooray! We bought a T10 card for the public transport as it's the cheapest, easiest way to travel around the city, so we hopped on the metro into town to find a restaurant for dinner. We stumbled across a little roadside cafe type place and settled there for the evening where we ate lots of meat and salad - yum!

Our hotel was a short 15 minute walk from Gaudi's Sagrada Familia, so on our first full day we strolled over to take a look - it was a bit nuts as one minute your walking down a normal street then this huge, quirky cathedral appears out of nowhere, it's set in a tiny little area, with a small park adjacent to it. We absolutely love this style of architecture so it was a real pleasure being able to have a good look at it, it was super quiet too with mainly locals around so it was nice to be able to have a sit down and take it all in. After this we headed towards the posh shopping district of Barcelona, stopping on the way at aQistoi cafe where we had cofee, fresh apple juice and delicious sarnies! There were more Gaudi buildings here too so we saw Casa Batllo which was very Hansel and Gretel esque, the shapes and colours of the buildings are definitely different, we loved it. As you can imagine the shops were insanely awesome, i had to be restrained in Zara, especially because everything was cheaper than the UK - there was a massive selection of high end shops like Tiffany's, Chanel, Sandro etc. so it's definitely worth a visit if you're feeling flush.

We then caught a metro to Park Guell, it's on a really steep hill but they have escalators for short legged lazy people like me, when you get to the top there's more steep hills and walking but the views are worth it! The multi coloured mosaic tiles look so pretty, and the gardens are full of wildlife. There were entertainers too, singing, playing guitars and a man making huge bubbles! That evening we ate out at a Spanish bar, where more meat was consumed. There was a traditional bakery next to the hotel so we ate there the following morning, before a trip to the Ramblas. Lots of people had warned us of pick pocketers but there were few dodgy characters around and it was fairly quiet so we were free to walk around and explore. We went to the indoor food market which was full of fresh and cooked food where we ate the biggest, juciest strawberries, the chocolate selection was pretty darn good too. The Gothic Quarter is just off the Ramblas and was one of my favourite places, i loved the tiny streets and traditional feel to it - we had some more lovely food at Bootleg Cafe where i ate the freshest guacamole ever, G opted for steak skewers with potato, it was yummy and so cheap at only 11 euro for everything! We walked our food off with a walk down the Ramblas to the harbour where we had a mooch around the expensive boats and grabbed a coffee too.

The final evening was spent at a restaurant opposite the Sagrada Familia, i had parmesan, mushroom and saffron risotto, again it was fab - i like to eat as much as i can whilst on holiday... The Sagrada looked even better lit up at night, it was pretty spooky though! The flight back was turbulent and jumpy, not the best but we made it!

My boyfriend took some amazing photos (i'm absolutely not to be trusted with a proper camera), so i've included some snaps of the trip below - i had to include the last snap of the little bird with the mohican, so cute! I hope you enjoy them :).

The Monday Piece - Zara gilet

This week's Monday Piece is on this cosy Zara gilet i picked up recently. It was in the sale and i loved the oversized fit, the faux fur lining is mega warm and i thought the colours contrasted well! I don't wear much brown so thought it would be a nice addition to my gilet collection, however i definitely would have preferred it in black but sadly it was only available in this colour! Also, i dyed my hair much darker, i really don't like it so hoping it'll fade fairly soon, especially as my boyfriend compared me to the girl out of The Grudge...charming!

What I Wore Today - Lulu & Co Earthling jumper

I got back from Barcelona last night to crazy winds, rain and flooding, plus the flight was turbulent and shaky which wasn't the best - so i'm trying to keep warm and cosy today which is proving tricky because it is SO cold! There's lots of pictures to sort through then i'll be uploading a post all about it, we had a great time and saw some really cool stuff, so keep a look out for that if you like travelling! I had a Zalando voucher and this Lulu & Co jumper popped up in the sale so it seemed like a good buy, the Earthling slogan is cute and i love any kind of slouchy sweater to throw on with jeans and boots for lazy days. These zippy jeans from Zara were also a sale purchase and were only £7.99, such a bargain! I hope you like my outfit :).

Guest Post - Laura Neal, Chambray & Curls

Today the beautiful and mega stylish Laura Neal is guest posting! Doesn't she look incredible? You can check out Laura's amazing blog, Chambray & Curls, right hereX

So, being on Heidi's blog is kind of a challenge! She is the queen of laidback cool, and always manages to look so effortlessly good. I had to have a little think about what I could wear to live up to her usual standards :) So, I decided to follow the rule of Keep It Simple, Stupid... This is my attempt to look casual and a little bit cool (!) What do you think? Done ok? I hope so, because this jumper dress is my new favourite and I may end up wearing it forever...

The Monday Piece - Guest Post, Holly Crouch

This week's Monday Piece is a guest post from the lovely Holly Crouch featuring some amazing Spring pieces from Boohoo , hope you enjoy it :).
X

Beautiful Boohoo
I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with online shopping; I’m finding more and more these days that I can’t find what I’m looking for in actual shops, but I’m always scared about ordering online in case I choose the wrong size and have to go through all the palaver of returning (which I’m never entirely sure how to do!!). Boohoo has become one of my favourite online clothing sites and I’m always amazed at the massive selection and variety they offer. I particularly love Boohoo clothes in the spring and summer with their beautiful prints and selection of sundresses and playsuits, but from what I’ve seen of their spring collection so far they seem to have pulled it out of the bag even more than usual this year. I’ve seen a few hauls circling around on Instagram and Youtube and have found my wish list getting a little out of control so I thought I’d share some of my favourite pieces with you that my wardrobe is crying out for (honestly it is!!)

Tapestry Smock Dress
Smock dresses are popping up all over the place at the moment and they seem to be fast overtaking the much beloved skater dress. I love smock dresses because they suit pretty much any shape and are so easy to just throw on without needing much styling (not to mention they comfortably conceal any food babies going on!) I’ve seen a few pretty ones in Primark but this little Tapestry number has really stolen my heart. I love the different colours it uses and how it looks like Tapestry but isn’t actually Tapestry fabric. I think the appearance of different textures really adds a bit of va-va-voom to basic outfits and I think this would look lovely paired with a cropped denim jacket and chunky wedge sandals. Of course it could be a little while still until we reach bare legs weather, so I think this would also look stunning with black tights, a cropped biker jacket and Chelsea boots. I like to wear smock dresses with cropped jackets as I think they really pull the outfit together and prevent you from looking swamped as well as showing off your figure a little bit. I do think £18 is quite steep for a dress, but this is such a versatile number that you’d be able to get lots of wear out of so I think the price tag can be justified.

Cream Coatigan
What I love most about Coatigans is the comfortable and simple way they sit because they don’t have any buttons. They’re perfect to wear over a pretty top because they show plenty of the top detail whilst keeping you nice and snug. I love this cream Boohoo coatigan because it looks like a lovely knit that’s going to keep you warm without making you break out in a sweat and it’s also the perfect length that can be worn over a dress or a top and jeans. There’s something so fresh about wearing cream with pastel and I literally cannot wait until it’s warm enough to wear a coatigan without a winter coat and scarf! (Anyone else seriously had enough of winter now?!)

Chiffon Swing Dress
This is one of those dresses that as soon as I saw it I knew it had to be mine. I love everything about it; the colour, the fabric, the length, the sequin detail…Boohoo have really ticked every box in the spring checklist with this beauty. I personally love peach but they also have it in mint; I personally think that peach looks best with brunette hair and mint looks best with blonde hair, but I also think if you love a colour you can find a way of making it work for you! I’m incredibly pale so I will need to whack out some fake tan to be able to wear this peach shade, but I particularly love this dress because of the subtle yellow detail on the top panel which I think breaks it up nicely and stops it from looking like a naked skin colour. Whilst I do think this needs to be worn with bare legs, it’s a versatile little number that will be both day and night time appropriate and the chiffon fabric means it’ll be perfect for taking on summer holidays.

Fluffy Crop Jumper
Mohair style fabric was one of the most popular fabric textures for AW13 and I’m super excited to see it’s going to continue into SS14. I really love long sleeved cropped jumpers as they’re suitable for different weathers and can be styled in lots of different ways. This little lilac option just looks so soft and amazing I want to snuggle up in it and IT’S SO FLUFFY I WANNA DIE (name that movie :P) I think this will look stunning either tucked into or worn over a skater skirt, worn over a skater/swing dress or worn under a dungaree or pinafore dress. I love how you can play around with crops to either show a little strip of flesh or style them so you can’t see any flesh and I think £20 is pretty reasonable for a good quality knitted jumper. I find Lilac a bit of a difficult colour to wear, but they also have this in pink and lemon which is another thing I love about Boohoo; they nearly always offer things in different colours so you can find the one that’s perfect for you.
Love Holly x

What I Wore Today - Asos navy knitted jumper

This jumper has been one of my favourite pieces this Winter, i love how chunky it is, plus the bell bottom sleeves are extra long and oversized! Also navy knitwear makes a nice change from all the black I usually wear. I've had a mega busy week, and leave to go to Barcelona tomorrow morning so I've got a pile of packing to do! We've only got hand luggage which is forcing me to be picky with what I take, not ideal as I'm not one for travelling light. I've got some stuff scheduled for when I'm away, so keep an eye out for that :).

What I Wore Today - Babycham Waverly Heeled Sandals

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We spent it watching some Six Nations rugby which is always a good laugh, apart from when England lose...that's never funny - unless you're my Welsh boyfriend who finds it overly satisfying! I also did a little shopping for some new make up bits, and visited my family in Malvern as it's only fifteen minutes down the road so it's easy to visit them whenever i like! The weather is still mega chilly in the UK, but Spring styles are popping up everywhere so i'm starting to bring in a few fresh new pieces, these Babycham heeled sandals are so sassy - they're nice and high with a platform, and feature a strappy, printed design. The new Spring/Summer range is fun, cute and feminine, with different textures, embellishments and prints! I picked up this very cosy jumper in Zara recently, oversized roll neck jumpers are the way forward, i hope you like my outfit :).
