This week's Monday Piece is on this lace up jumper! These snaps were taken when i had freshly dyed darker hair, it's so much lighter now but looking at this kind of makes me want to go darker again! I picked up this fleecy style cosy jumper from Primark for about a tenner, it's ideal for snug days and the lace up style is on trend too. I've been spending the Christmas break relaxing and spending time with family which has been fab and just what i needed, loving that the sales have hit the stores so i'll be keeping my eyes peeled for a bargain!
This week's Monday Piece is on this chunky Boohoo jumper! It's been a fairly mild December and i know i'm not the only blogger wearing open toe boots still, paired with an oversized knit i think i can just about get away with it! Just a quick outfit post as i have a tonne of stuff to do, as usual i'm keeping it fairly casual and simple with my favourite black and grey tones :).
This week's Monday Piece is on suede and skulls! It was my birthday a few weeks ago and Nick surprised me with this black and white silk Alexander McQueen scarf, i've been it wearing ever since as i can't get enough of it! The weather has been so grim over the weekend so i've been keeping it fairly casual in jeans and a fringed suede jacket for running errands, shopping and eating out :).
K.Jacques are renowned for making luxury leather sandals in the sunny region of Saint Tropez in France, so when they got in touch asking if i'd like to customise my own pair i was thrilled! Their website is really easy to use as you scroll through the different sandals and accessories, if an item is possible to personalise there is an option do so. By selecting the style you want, you then choose the colour of the leather, the style of the leather, the material, and any other special requirements you may have. By adding to basket and creating an account, the first step of the personalisation process is complete. After this you get you're own K Jacques stylist contact you via email, offering any assistance on the style and design you have chosen, as well as offering advice and checking through all of the details with you to ensure you get the style and design you want.
At first i had a look through their inspiration gallery to check out the styles people had pre-designed and ordered, i loved all of the prints and different colours and textures! I was so tempted to design a brightly coloured multi-coloured metallic leather pair, all singing all dancing, but lets face it i always knew i wanted something sleek, sharp, smart and cool - in the colour that goes with everything...black! I fancied myself a pair of their incredible gladiator sandals, i am quite the fan of a statement shoe so the Appia sandals caught my eye and i decided to go ahead and get them customised. I originally chose them to be made from black suede however when the stylist got in touch they recommended the nubuck black leather as it's more hard wearing than suede and has a silky soft finish with a suede look - well their recommendation was spot on as the nubuck looks and feels amazing!
All of the sandals are made onsite, by hand, in Saint Tropez, so i was expecting to wait a good few weeks for them to arrive with me in the UK, but within 6 days i had an email to say they were ready and on their way for delivery the following day! I received them 7 days after the original order so i was super impressed at their speedy service and attentive customer service levels. The Appia sandals are i everything i expected and more, the packaging is great as they came boxed with a dustbag and care details - i love the style, they come to just under my knee so are ultra high on the leg which i love, and the studs down the middles add a little grunge to them which matches my style so well! They fit true to size and the adjustable straps mean they can fit legs of all lengths and sizes - the leather is thick and tough, which will age beautifully over time - when Summer comes they won't leave my feet, they are just fab!
K.Jacques also offer care and repair on all of their sandals, the craftsmanship is stunning just like their customer service. I've been really impressed with their levels of service and how beautifully made these sandals are, thank you K.Jacques!

Men's fashion website Jacamo have recently launched their mega cool Christmas campaign! Featuring lots of different looks and styles, they are focusing on an outfit suitable to wear to meet the parents. During the festivities it's usually prime time to meet members of the extended family and spend that all important quality time together, plus meeting and greeting your other halves families too! We all know this can be a scary, nervy time, and although there really is nothing to worry about, Jacamo can offer a few tips to make it a smooth and pleasant experience - by dressing to impress you're already showing you can present yourself in a sharp, decent manner. Jeans and a casual shirt can look trendy as well as smart if you're just popping over for a chilled bite to eat, alternatively if you're heading to a posh family party or dinner then dressing the part is important to make that all consuming first impression!
Dishing out compliments and niceness is always a winner when you first meet the in laws, a charm offensive is usually my first port of call - this is often easier with the ladies, but a little more tricky when it comes to winning over the Dad. By asking lots of questions, engaging in conversation, and listening when required, are all important factors, and of course avoiding any sticky or awkward subjects will make things flow very nicely. As well as these tips there are a few more obvious things you can do to make yourself look a little more sensible and straight edged than you probably are - try not to drink too much with dinner, table manners are a must, and watch the PDA's too as things could get a little cringe!
Check out the full Jacamo blog post featuring tips for meeting the parents here, they also have a fun video to watch about understanding men's dress code's here.
This week's Monday Piece is on these Maniere De Voir leggings! I've been looking for a cool pair of fun leather leggings for a while, and saw these pop up on twitter, so i checked out the website and added to my basket right away! The lace up style is mega grungy so I've kept the rest of my outfit simple by wearing a grey v-neck jumper and some fluffy heels from Topshop. There are so many cool styles on the Maniere De Voir website that I want to snap up, it's all right up my street. If you fancy yourself a pair then I'd recommend sizing down like I did as they come up a little big :).
