#DESTINATIONUNKNOWN BANK Fashion

BANK Fashion are celebrating festival season by launching an insane competition #DESTINATIONUNKNOWN  - they are giving away a Summer full of fun and adventure to one winner! The winner will get the opportunity to be BANK's festival insider, travelling to three unknown destinations across Europe with their best buddie, blogging about the experience - how awesome is that? I love music, festival fashion and taking photos but have never been to a 'big' festival before, so an opportunity like this would be extremely exciting and crazy!

BANK have a whole load of sassy new season stock, so i've featured below some key pieces from the website for both girls and guys that are spot on for festival season. The girls set features a cosmic bandeau top - worn with some little crochet shorts this would be super cute - some round sunglasses that are always a festival winner, chunky Dr. Martens boots are ideal whatever the weather (also they're half price), and a bumbag is essential to keep your phone and money safe! The boys set includes a textured rucksack, fresh pants and socks (because boys are dirty and smell), wayfarer sunglasses and a Superdry wallet - plus i've added sweeties to both as they're the best food for emergency energy, fact.

I've also added a selection of practical festival items - a tent and sleeping bag being the most important, the little tent booties i couldn't resist because they look so comfy and cute! A torch is essential too as getting lost in a sea of tents after hours of partying wouldn't be too good - plus the festival toiletries like wet wipes, deodorant and sun cream are necessary to stay clean and protected. And finally, a snazzy camera is a must, so you can photograph the amazing experience and fun times!

The Monday Piece - Alexander McQueen

This weeks Monday piece is on legendary British fashion designer (Lee) Alexander McQueen. McQueen started his career as an apprentice on Saville Row, London, where he learned traditional tailoring techniques and created pieces for the clientelle such as Prince Charles. After this he attended Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design where he excelled as a pupil gaining a Master's degree in fashion design. From then on McQueen intended on creating controversy with his collections, whilst producing amazingly showstopping pieces that every woman wanted a piece of, his collections were always 'different' as well as unique and quite unreal - he made the impossible possible in the fashion world which gained huge admiration from critics, he was often known as the 'hooligan' of British fashion.
From pricey one off couture samples to more affordable pieces of jewellery and accessories, each piece is carefully designed and the eye is always in the detail. McQueen was responsible for the popularity of low rise jeans, suitably naming them 'bumsters', as well as modern classic items such as the coveted chiffon silk scull scarf which McQueen turned into his own.
There are Alexander McQueen boutiques throughout the world, with an enormous fan base and celebrity following the brand will keep growing as a result of the hugely dedicated and talented team behind the brand - and with Sarah Burton at the help it can't go far wrong. Although McQueen himself took his own life in 2010, his legacy and inspiration is still more than alive. Below are some of my favourite items this artistic genius created, I hope you enjoy them as much as me. Long live McQueen!

The Monday Piece - Chicnova.com

This weeks Monday Piece is on new online fashion brand, Chicnova.com. They say that Chic means style and fashion, and nova means a new star, this brand is both of these. The website is based in Hong Kong and is becoming quickly established - since discovering this site recently I love it, it's right up my street and has styles to suit every lady out there, I particularly love the grungy style of clothing and they have lots of studded and embellished items which are too difficult to resist! Those eye popping trainers are so cool and unique, I need them on my feet right now, I also need that fringed bag for autumn/winter. They have such a great selection of jewellery, shoes, clothing and even bits and bobs for the home.
The site is also gaining popularity with fashion bloggers, they often do lots of contests on their Facebook page where you can win vouchers to spend on the site, though the prices are very reasonable anyway. If you get chance to look at the fashion site I definitely recommend it, they offer free worldwide shipping and 20% off your first order when you register, let me know if you buy something - I'd love to see!

The Monday Piece - Zara

This weeks Monday Piece is on my all time favourite high street store, Zara. Those of you who read my blog regularly will already know what a mega fan I am, I feature their clothes in almost every outfit post. I adore the quality, style, and cut of their pieces, plus they're prices are so reasonable and I can always rely on picking something gorgeous up in store.
The Spanish store was created in 1975 and was hugely successful from then on, it originally set out in creating look a like designer pieces at affordable prices, something the store has continued to achieve in recent years. The popularity of the stores meant expansion during the 1980's through to Portugal, France and the US, thereafter they started a men's and children's line as well as women's - a unique aspect of the stores production is they can get a product designed, sourced and created then put into the shop within 2 weeks. As well as this they produce up to 11,000 pieces yearly compared to the 2-3000 of its competitors.
My favourite fashion season is winter and Zara have not disappointed with their most recent collection, I've pictured my favourite pieces below, the leopard print boots are screaming my name!
